Auldred Jean Hilbrich Wendel

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Auldred Jean Hilbrich Wendel on May 1, 2024, at the age of 89. She was born on July 24, 1934, to Gustav and Agnes Frank Hilbrich in Westhoff. Audrey was a wonderful homemaker and seamstress who lovingly sewed quilts for each of her grandchildren. They will forever serve as a reminder of her love.

Throughout her life with Nolan, (who passed away during the pandemic) adventures took them from Cuero to Taft, Bay City, and then Plaquemine, LA and back to their beloved Cuero to retire. Audrey and Nolan made countless memories, lifelong friendships, and enjoyed many new experiences. Audrey volunteered in many organizations and helped in any way she could.

Audrey is survived by her children, Carolyn West (Rick), Deneane Lovett (Barry) and Randale Wendel (Kim); seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

A celebration of Audrey and Nolan’s lives will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, 1:00 pm at Freund Funeral Home followed by interment at Memory Gardens in Cuero at 2:00 pm with Pastor Paul Muehlbrad officiating.
