Doris (Dolly) V. Schulze Pfeifer died peacefully at home on her beloved farm Thursday, May 2, 2024, at the age of 91. She was born December 31, 1932 in Dobskyville in Goliad County to Fred and Mary Mueller Schulze. She married Eddie W. Pfeifer Sr. on June 11, 1950 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorktown. Doris & Eddie made their home on the Pfeifer Homestead, which had been in the Pfeifer family since 1896.

Dolly was well known for her baking; pies, cakes, maple tea ring, homemade bread, homemade butter, sweet rice and koch kase. Dolly was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church-Nordheim, as well as a member of Hermann Sons of Nordheim Lodge for over 70 years; a member of the Nordheim Garden Club, Nordheim Shooting Club, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Runge and the Nordheim Volunteer Fire Department.

She is survived by her children Eddie W. Jr. (Jan) Pfeifer of Nordheim, daughter Bettie M. (Gary) Stehling of Nordheim, grandchildren Brandy (Dwyane Jr.) Short, Briana (Joey) Brown, great granddaughters Chloe King and Lyndsay Weghorst, great grandsons Brock and Brayson Brown, Hayden and Koltyn Russell; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband Eddie Pfeifer Sr, infant daughter, parents Fred & Mary Schulze, brothers Fred, Edward, Delmar and Elton, sister Mary Ann Pfeifer and granddaughter Kristin Russell.

Visitation 1-2 pm Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Massey Funeral Home and funeral service will begin at 2 pm. Interment to follow at Nordheim Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joey Brown, Dwyane Short, Brock Brown, Braysen Brown, Haidyn Russell, Duane Pfeifer and Ronnie Pfeifer, Roger Pargmann and Chloe King. Honorary pallbearers are Charlotte Broll, Sharon Roemer, Bobby Waskow, Jimmy Waskow, Tony Longoria, Joseph Respondek, Royce Pargmann and Marcus Pfeifer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 313 N Chapparal, Nordheim, Texas 78141, Hospice of South Texas, 605 E. Locust Ave, Victoria, Texas 77901 or the Kristin Russell Memorial Scholarship Fund, 200 Dye Road, Goliad, Texas 77963.
