Your Fightin’ Lady Gobblers secured a tough home victory against La Vernia last Friday. Lainee Ballin and Bromli Watson both launched homers and each had two runs batted in for Cuero. Alexis Flessner and Camdyn Lange each added an RBI to secure the 6-5 victory.

Nordheim will be sending Tristan Infante to Regionals in golf. He placed 2nd in the varsity boys.

The Nordheim Pirates and Lady Pirates brought home lots of hardware April 4th at their District Track Meet advancing almost every athlete to the Area Meet. Results are as followed: Ariyana Blackwell - 1st in 100 m and 200 m Percy Torrez - 1st 1600 m and 2nd 3200 m Kristiana Lopez - 1st in shot and 3rd discus Vanessa Lopez - 4th discus Jacob Torres - 3rd 100, 1st 200, 1st in shot, 1st in discus, and 2nd relay 4x100 Nick Serna - 1st 800, 2nd 400 Skylar Garcia - 2nd 1600 and 2nd 3200 Jayson Buch - tied for 1st in PV Connly Metting - 3rd discus and 2nd shot Pedro Villanueva - 4th in discus Sprint relay placed 2nd

On April 4, 2024, the Yorktown Kitty Kat and Wildcat track teams competed in the District 31-2A Track Meet in Woodsboro, Texas. Besides Yorktown, the following schools competed; Kenedy, Port Aransas, Refugio, Skidmore- Tynan, Three Rivers and Woodsboro. The JV Girls won their division, while the JV Boys placed 7th. The Varsity Boys placed 2nd overall and the Varsity Girls placed 5th.

Cuero High School recently competed at the Rice Consolidated Swamp Relays. Paisley Janssen placed 3rd in the high jump.

The Yorktown Kitty Kat and Wildcat track teams hosted the Yorktown Relays, this past Wednesday, March 27, 2024. Besides Yorktown, 11 other schools participated: Faith Academy, Moulton, Nordheim, Pettus, Port Aransas, Prairie Lea, Runge, St.

The Junior High Kitty Kat and Wildcat Track teams finished up their track season on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the District 31-2A Junior High Track Meet in Woodsboro, Texas. Besides Yorktown, six other schools competed at the meet: Kenedy, Port Aransas, Refugio, Skidmore-Tynan, Three Rivers and Woodsboro.

Jacob Torres finished 4th in 100 and 3rd shot put. Nick Serna was 4th in 400 and 3rd in the 800.

A near record crowd attended the Yorktown Independent School District meeting Monday, March 25 for their regular meeting. The board was expected to make a final decision regarding the highly debated four day school week, but tabled the decision after a closed session.
